The 2027 Elan Playmaker 101 is back with the same all-mountain freestyle personality that makes it a favorite. Sitting right in the sweet spot of versatility, it's just as comfortable popping off side hits as it is floating through soft snow or laying into groomers with a playful edge.

Why we like it:

It’s the true do-it-all member of the Playmaker family—freestyle-forward, but fully capable wherever you take it.

Who it's for:

Creative skiers who have a playful style and want one ski to rule the resort—light enough for tricks, strong enough to charge when you need it, and fun everywhere in between.

Highlights:

With a 101 mm waist and Amphibio Twin Tip rocker profile, the Playmaker 101 combines edge precision with a loose and surfy feel. The Tubelite woodcore with dual carbon rods keeps it responsive and poppy, while the twin shape and relatively soft flex pattern make it easy to pivot and slash at will. Given its width, it’s an extremely light ski, making it quick on it’s feet, snappy off the ground, and a ton of fun for a huge variety of skiers.

Things to consider:

Skiers who prioritize maximum stability in firm or variable conditions may want something with metal or a stiffer flex profile. While it carves surprisingly well for a twin-tip, it doesn’t offer the same edge precision or power as a directional ski with a flatter tail. Its playful, surfy character is what makes it great—but it’s best suited to skiers who prefer to bounce, slash, and spin their way through the mountain rather than lock into high-speed turns all day.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski true to size. Length should be chosen based on the skier’s height, weight, skiing style, and preferred terrain.
