DESCRIPTION

The 2026 Elan Playmaker 101 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is the all-mountain twin tip that delivers playful energy and effortless style from the top of the mountain to the park and everywhere in between. Sitting right in the sweet spot at 101 mm underfoot, it blends soft snow float, carving precision, and trick-ready quickness in one of the most versatile skis in the game. We paired the Playmaker 101 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

This is the kind of ski that never feels out of place. Whether you’re boosting natural hits, ripping groomers with friends, or finding your flow in the trees, the Playmaker 101 lets you ski creatively without compromise.

Who it's for:

Built for intermediate to expert skiers with a freestyle mindset, this ski is ideal for riders who want to blur the line between all-mountain and park. It’s light, energetic, and forgiving enough to invite experimentation, while still holding its own when you want to push.

Highlights:

The 101 mm waist makes this ski nimble yet floaty, perfect for bouncing through soft snow or carving clean arcs on corduroy. Elan’s Amphibio Twin Tip rocker profile adds grip to your downhill edge while preserving the loose, surfy ride in softer conditions. Inside, the Tubelite woodcore features dual carbon rods for lively energy and snappy response, while the lightweight construction ensures quick footwork and easy air awareness. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.

Things to consider:

With no metal in the build and a playful, twin-tip shape, the Playmaker 101 isn’t designed for high-speed trench carving or charging on boilerplate. Skiers who prefer damp, directional power will find it a bit loose underfoot. But if flow and freedom are what you’re after, you’ll be hard-pressed to find more fun in one package.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These skis run true to size. Choose your standard length for everyday versatility, size down for quicker spins and tighter control, or size up for extra float and stability when things get rowdy.

I’ve heard good things about this ski, so my expectations were pretty high. That said, I was pleasantly surprised when these skis exceeded them.

Thoughts
I would recommend these for all types of terrain, especially trails and snow conditions that invite lots of popping and air time. I did take these for a park lap for good measure, and found they performed admirably on jumps. While I wouldn’t say these are a full on park ski, I was able to spin them pretty easily, only slightly noticing their swing weight.
I might just bring up the tip and tail height a little bit. I was able to butter them just fine, but I’d be hesitant to try a nollie in slushy snow as I could imagine the tips digging in.
Overal Impression
I’ve heard good things about this ski, so my expectations were pretty high. That said, I was pleasantly surprised when these skis exceeded them. The key feature here is the liveliness. Right from the first pop, I could tell these skis wanted to bounce around and get in the air as much as possible.
