DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Stockli Stormrider 95 continues to balance phenomenal carving performance with float, power, and stability, bringing a smooth and refined feel to the table, turn after turn. Thanks to Stockli’s lightweight wood core and plenty of Titanal, the 95 can hold its own on firm snow, but has the width and maneuverability to excel in soft snow and powder and remains a top-tier choice for skiers seeking a quiver of one.

Why we like it:

It’s a supremely versatile ski that is not only beautiful but has the high-end feel that we’ve come to expect from Stockli.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers are best suited to getting the most out of the Stormrider 95, however advancing intermediates shouldn’t rule this ski out.

Highlights:

Fans of last year’s Stormrider 95 will be happy to know that the shape, dimensions, and profile of the 2027 Stormrider 95 remain unchanged, though we do see some small revisions to the construction which have some pretty noticeable benefits. An updated base material with additional graphite creates a more efficient sliding surface for uninhibited speed, while a rubber tip insert helps to dampen vibrations, reducing feedback from the snow surface and adding to that smooth Stockli feel we know and love. Lastly, a clear scratch-resistant coating on the topsheet helps to reduce dings and marks, ensuring your skis look great run after run.

Things to consider:

Though offered as part of their All-mountain/Freeride lineup, the Stormrider 95 is very much a directional freeride ski, meaning it’s not as well suited to skiers who have a creative style and prefer a playful, true twin. As is the case with all Stockli skis, these are hand-built with incredible attention to detail, and the price does reflect that.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski true to size; advanced and expert skiers can go with their usual length, but advancing intermediates looking to get on these may want to size down for added maneuverability and forgiveness.

Even with a substantially longer pair than I would normally ski, they were in my top 5 across carving and all mountain skis.

Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
This length was just right given the ride of the ski.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
Solid cruiser that likes speed and carving.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
At home on the groomers but can handle the crud and ice.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This would be a good upgrade for an intermediate that is confident in their turning or the one quiver ski for the expert that really like to cruise fast on the groomers.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
Solid ski that dampens the terrain but don’t expect it to be very playful.
