DESCRIPTION

The Bent 100 is the most versatile ski in the Bent collection, designed as a daily driver for skiers who want a playful, all-mountain platform with freestyle DNA. It bridges soft snow performance and hard snow capability in a way that makes it an easy choice for mixed conditions.

Why we like it:

It feels light on its feet and quick edge to edge, yet it has enough backbone to stay composed when conditions get dicey. It's a ski that encourages playful skiers, offering quick direction changes and allowing for creative lines across the whole mountain.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to expert skiers who want a single ski for everything from groomers to soft snow and park laps. It especially suits those who ski with a centered stance and like a bit of looseness in their ride.

Highlights:

A poplar wood core keeps weight low and response lively, giving the ski energy without feeling harsh. Tip and tail rocker combined with camber underfoot delivers a blend of float, easy turn initiation, and reliable edge grip on firm snow. The lighter, more playful build means it's not the most damp option for high-speed, refrozen conditions. Skiers who prioritize carving precision and maximum edge hold on icy trails will prefer a more metal-driven, directional construction.

This is the proper length in this ski for me. Tons of fun, very smooth, and still quick and mobile.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

As usual, the freshly graphic'd Bent 100 is impressive. I think the fresh edges, the new camber, and the smooth bases out of the wrapper make a big difference here--these skis just feel better when new. Great grip on firmer snow, and still very fun to bend into the turns. When the snow gets variable, these skis don't miss a beat--they just keep turning steady and smooth.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This is a true all-terrain ski with very few limitations. For sure, the Bent 100 doesn't float as well as a pure powder ski, nor does it carve as well as a frontside ski, or function as playful as some park-dedicated twin tips, but it definitely mixes these attributes better than most.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This ski can suit a huge variety of skier types and levels and applications. It's still skewed a bit more towards those with a softer snow priority, but still can work as a daily all-mountain ski for a lot of skiers.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This is a big, stiff, ski that I immediately softened into. It was happy, making a variety of turns and patterns and plays in some bumps and groomers. I found it comfortable and fun, but not necessarily as responsive as a few other skis in the class. It struck me as a ski that would certainly excel in bumper softer snow.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

The ski is certainly oriented to all mountain/off piste and softer conditions. On some of the hard pack it felt a little bit… The word that comes to mind is brittle. Of course this comes at its weight - adding material to increase dampness which certainly sacrifice some of the maneuverability and responsiveness of the ski.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Advanced and expert all mountain skiers who enjoy a ski that requires a little bit of driver input will be comfortable on the ski just about anywhere.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

This is one of the rare skis where I may actually consider sizing down a little bit for some of the East Coast Glades and bumps that I prefer. It has such a stiff profile throughout the ski that sizing down would certainly increase its responsiveness and playfulness. Overall, I was very comfortable in the skiing, enjoyed it immensely.

I think they ski true to size. I generally prefer the 179, but the 186 is fun sometimes.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

It's hard not to have fun when you're skiing a Bent 100. Definitely not the strongest on groomers, but the camber height does give them some decent performance and they always feel responsive and energetic to me. There's just a limit for top end speed and edge grip. Any time you take them off a groomer, they really come alive. Just so good in trees and technical terrain where you have to make quick movements. Some of the best float out of any 100 mm width ski, so you can take them into softer snow too and you'll do just fine. Honestly would work for a lot of Northeast skiers as a powder ski, but then it could just as easily be a daily driver for some skiers, both east and west, depending on stylistic preferences.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

You can take a Bent 100 anywhere and have a good time, but I do think the highlight is its performance in off-piste terrain, ungroomed conditions, and softer snow. One of the best east coast tree skis to ever exist.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

It's quite easy to ski, so would be ok for an intermediate looking to try wider skis and/or twin tip shapes. Expert level skiers can enjoy it too, but you should be aware of its limitations at speed, particularly on firm snow. It's not a charger, it's adventurous and creative.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

Sometimes I really like Bent graphics, sometimes I think they could be a little better, but I think Atomic nailed it for 2027. They look great!
