DESCRIPTION

The Bent 110 sits at the heart of Atomic’s freeride lineup as a playful, powder-driven ski that still carries enough backbone for everyday soft snow use. It blends freestyle roots with big-mountain versatility, making it a favorite for skiers who want to slash, pop, and smear without giving up stability when conditions get chopped up.

Why we like it:

This is one of those skis that makes soft snow feel intuitive. It pivots easily, stays composed in mixed conditions, and brings a surfy personality that encourages creativity without feeling nervous when you open it up.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers who split time between powder days, soft chop, and natural features. It suits riders who like a centered stance and a playful approach but still want enough support to ski aggressively when the terrain opens up.

Highlights:

A lightweight wood core keeps swing weight down and makes the ski easy to throw sideways or into the air. Atomic's HRZN shaping in the tip and tail increases surface area for better float and smoother planing without needing extra width. A progressive rocker profile promotes easy pivoting and forgiveness in soft snow while maintaining effective edge when rolled over. The more centered mount point supports a balanced, freestyle-friendly feel.

Things to consider:

At 110 mm underfoot, The Bent 110 is happiest in soft snow and mixed conditions. It will handle a groomed trail back to the lift, but firm, icy days are not where it shines brightest. Directional chargers who prefer a very rearward mount will want something more traditional.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Bent 110 skis true to length with a balanced feel. Its ample rocker profile shortens the effective edge slightly, so skiers focused on tight trees can size down for max maneuverability. Those skiing open terrain at speed or landing airs may prefer their usual length or even slightly longer for added support.

Location, Terrain, Snow Conditions Notes
Wasatch Peaks Ranch! Packed powder groomers and 6-8 inches of new snow in upper mountain areas, but was a bit heavy.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
It skis a little short with the amount of rocker it has. Some skiers might want to size up compared to what they'd normally choose.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
A unique opportunity to get to ski Wasatch Peaks Ranch was made even more special by skiing the Bent 110! While it's not the best on groomers, which we skied a lot of, it's also surprisingly not bad given the amount of rocker it has and its width. Actually can hold an edge pretty well, and then gives you a ton of room for playfulness and creativity... popping to switch, nose and tail butters, big slash turns, it does all that stuff so easily. Really fun to get it into some steeper terrain with deeper snow too. Not the best snow, a little heavy, and this ski is very soft so you have to ski with some care in situations like that. Definitely not an off-piste charger, that's why the Maverick 115 exists, but the Bent 110 is so fun to ski and makes any terrain feel like your own little playground.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
It's definitely best in soft snow and even better when the terrain is rolling or bouncy with lots of natural hits and features. If you're just ripping steep laps down the fall line, there are better skis, but if you want to bring creativity and a freestyle flair into the backcountry and any other soft snow situation, you'll love it.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
It's a rare ski in its width range that could actually be skied by an intermediate. Lightweight and relatively soft, so it won't beat you up and gives you a ton of float, which would help skiers like that improve in powder. Advanced and expert skiers will love it too, especially if you come from a park/freestyle/freeeski background.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
It's not actually as they don't share exact constructions, but it's basically a mini Bent Chetler 120.
