DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Kastle Legend 1956 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is the hand-built all-around frontside ski in Kastle's Legendary Collection. A lightweight karuba wood core, two layers of titanal, and the distinctive Double Steel Edge set into the topsheet deliver classic carving manners along with a level of craftsmanship you can feel underfoot. We paired the Legend 1956 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The Double Steel Edge that makes the Wedler special turns up here too, that second edge running through the topsheet for impact protection and long-term durability. Nobody else in skiing offers it, and it is a real part of what makes the Legendary Collection one of a kind.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers after a versatile frontside-leaning ski with authentic heritage and craftsmanship behind it. A wider waist than the Wedler puts a broader range of conditions back in play.

Highlights:

An 83 mm waist is what separates this ski from the Wedler, and the extra surface area lets the 1956 handle softer snow and chopped-up afternoons in comfort while keeping the same precision on trail. Underneath, the recipe is identical: a Karuba Woodcore for lightness and pop, Double Titanal for damping and grip, a Full Race Sidewall for direct power transmission, and Hollowtech 2.0 Carbon in the shovel serving as both visual signature and weight saver. The standout craft feature remains that Double Steel Edge in the topsheet, giving real durability along the topsheet edges where skis usually get chewed up first. Like the Wedler, it is hand-pressed from thirty individual parts in Kastle's Hohenems workshop, and a longer turn shape suits the wider waist, making this the more all-around of the two while frontside DNA stays intact. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

As with the Wedler, limited hand-built production constrains availability. Full camber and this waist width also stop short of a true all-mountain ski; think frontside-leaning with all-mountain tolerance. Deeper conditions and steep, variable terrain belong to the Sublime or Transcend lines.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Most skiers land right on their usual number here, where going shorter sharpens the ski's snap through a turn and going longer buys stability at speed.
