DESCRIPTION
The Dobermann Multipista 80 DC is Nordica’s precision on-piste ski with all-day power and carving refinement. With its DC (Double Core) construction and 80 mm waist, it delivers balance, power, and agility in firm conditions.
Why we like it:
It has the feel of a race ski without the twitchiness, making it perfect for carving from first chair to last lap.
Who it's for:
Advanced to expert skiers who prioritize edge grip, speed, and smooth transitions on groomed terrain.
Highlights:
The Double Core sandwiches a Pulse elastomer layer between wood cores and titanal, damping vibration while boosting rebound. A TPX 13 Royal binding completes the performance package, offering firm edge control and consistent energy.
Things to consider:
Not the ski for powder days or off-piste adventuring—this one wants to be tipped and ripped on hardpack.
Fit & sizing considerations:
True to size, with tighter turn radii for a ski of this waist width. Go shorter if you like quick arcs; longer for high-speed cruising.

It depends on with whom I'm skiing. Everything from Toll Road to Liftline (slowly) with my wife, to Centerline bumps/woods/any groomer at speed if alone or with other friends. I calibrate to the worst skier so everyone has fun typically

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
These skis were fun on frontside groomers for carving medium arcs, where they held an edge and powered through the turns nicely. Good rebound coming out of the turn and easy to initiate. Once in a turn they liked to hold it, making carvers easier than short turns, although they were fairly good in short turns, just required a bit more effort to finish quickly rather than holding the turn in a longer arc. Really fun carving at speed and felt stable but energetic in faster, longer turns.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
Groomers and off piste. Did not take into the bumps or woods so cannot comment, but imagine they might be tougher to pivot or smear.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Intermediate and up.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
These were one of the more fun skis for carving turns on groomers. While they weren’t super quick edge to edge for short turns, they were great to carve mid to longer arcs. Might have been different if I was on a shorter pair.

Hard charging, but with lots of little breaks. I mostly chase where the snow is good and skiing is fun rather than particular terrain, although I do love a technical line. I am almost never in the park and would never touch a race course.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
I expected a fast and strong carver, and these fit the bill. What I didn’t expect was the versatility, you could easily take these into woods or bumps and still have a good time despite the narrow waist, without sacrificing the piste performance that they are specialized for.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
These are mainly for groomed trails, but they could put up with most snow conditions from soft-ish to glazed. And, while i wouldn’t take them anywhere extreme, for low angle bumps, woods, and sidehits they work great.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
As versatile as this ski is, it’s for experts. It’ll punish you for not keeping things parallel, and with its big swooping turns you need to be comfortable handling a lot of speed.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
This was probably the ski I’d be most likely to buy out of what I’ve tested thusfar. Where a lot of carvers feel heavy and demanding these were strong enough to push without sacrificing playfulness and versatility.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
My first impression was that they ski really short, and the initial feel wasn’t what I’m used to. But after making a few turns, the ski came to life and has a surprising amount of edge hold for the design and construction. It felt stable at higher speeds, was fine in the bumps and could snap off a few short turns as well.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
This is an all mountain ski that can handle groomers, firm snow, light chop and a few inches of fresh snow. It has a mixed blend of a frontside carver and all mountain ripper. If you want the versatility of an all mountain ski, but also like a narrower, race-like ski, you’ll really enjoy this ski.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This ski is for advanced to expert level skiers, but an advancing intermediate could easily handle this ski if they skied it a little short.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
This ski took a few turns to get used to, and want what I expected, but overall a great ski. Would consider having it in my quiver.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
I love the narrower Multipista, but this one might be my new favorite. Such a unique blend of power and versatility. Race ski build and feel but in a friendly shape and width. Really very fun to ski and made very challenging conditions feel super fun. Closest comp is Montero AX, another ski I absolutely love.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
It rips groomers, but you can take it off trail too which is relatively rare for a ski of this caliber. Generally you’re sacrificing some versatility to achieve this much power and precision, but you’re not losing much here.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
It’s approachable, but still probably a bit much for an intermediate. Best for an expert skier who can get the most out of it, but perfectly fine for an advanced skier too.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
It’s very, very good.

This ski is for the whole mountain with an emphasis on piste.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
I liked this ski a lot. It offers a stable platform to get some piste carves in, yet with the "Enforcer" style tip it gives you the option to duck into the woods when you get bored with the groomers. It also is a good bit lighter than the other skis in this class like the Rossi Forza 70 and has more "all around performance" than I was expecting.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
Super energetic and snappy! I like the wider feel than the 74, it just gives you more confidence to stand on. The taper in the tips and tails does not take away too much initiation but you do have to drive the ski a bit more to get it to hook up compared to the Multigara. There is some smeariness and playfulness you can unlock here but you need to do it in a calculated way.

On trail carving with some mixed conditions and some light off trail use.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
My first impression was love lol but really that this ski felt smooth, stable, and very predictable. It was easy to get it up on edge and trust it through the turn, especially on firmer groomed terrain. It has a strong, composed feel without being overly demanding, which made it approachable while still feeling high performance. I personally loved this ski and would use it as my daily driver.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
I would recommend this ski primarily for groomed terrain and on-piste skiing. Its perfect for most NE groomers.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This ski is best suited for intermediate to advanced skiers who enjoy carving and spending most of their time on groomers. It works well for someone who wants a performance-oriented ski that is still manageable and not overly aggressive
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
This ski is moving the front of the pack as my "go to" daily ski.

A bit more rigid than I used to be but still trying to be dynamic, smooth, and fluid with varying degrees of success. Skis on the snow, these days.

Location, Terrain, Snow Conditions Notes
Skied at Stowe on a firm and smooth morning--ideal Multipista 80 conditions.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
This is a great length. I could go longer but would rather have the focus on more shorter carves.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
When you're faced with ice or firm conditions, you want confidence out of a ski first and foremost. The Multipista 80 delivers on that and then some. You can fully lean into and trust this ski no matter what's underneath your feet. One of the fun parts of this ski is that it can make all sorts of different turn shapes, from short swing skids to long and drawn-out carves.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
Groomers and smooth zones are the best for this ski but it can be used in light off-piste zones. The construction is very race-like but there's enough rocker and taper here to make trees and bumps part of your daily routine.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
I don't think an intermediate would love this ski unless they went pretty short. Advanced and expert skiers as well as former racers will get along great with the Multipista 80.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
The 80 is a great ski for an eastern daily ski no questions asked.
