Directional, cambered, and with a big name to go with it, the Arbor Bryan Iguchi Pro Camber is an ideal choice for riders who envision themselves carving up any mountain at any time just like Bryan does. A lot of pro model boards are built with very specific requirements in mind, but the Iguchi Pro relies heavily on fun, and for a lot of riders, that is a very attainable goal. Built with a Double Barrell Core and topped with a hand-dyed Ash powerply, the Iguchi Pro Camber has a lot of power behind it. Mixed Glassing fiberglass laminates add a lot of energy and some stiffness to the mix, making Arbor place a flex rating of 7 out of 10 on the board. That puts it squarely in the advanced to expert range in terms of quality and performance—two things you’ll get a whole lot of on the Bryan Iguchi Pro Camber snowboard.

ROCKER & OUTLINE SHAPE
Camber
PREFERRED TERRAIN
Big Mountain, Groomers, Powder

David Lombardi rode the 159, and while he found it to be true to size, he’d likely size down personally. Dave gave the board top marks of 4 out of 5 for stability, quickness, maneuverability, playfulness, forgiveness, torsional stiffness, edge hold, and overall impression. Versatility and flotation were the lone 3’s on the card, but that’s still a pretty high-performance average on this ride. Dave states that the Iguchi Pro is “A top 5 board I’ve ever ridden. Very solid on groomed and icy steep slopes. It felt stable and consistent through each run. Extremely responsive and quick to maneuver. This is a full camber board and powder is not its specialty. However, it is lightweight and wide suggesting it would handle powder but not ultra-deep dumps. I felt like I had 4WD on my feet. It is very fun to ride in softer and choppy spring snow.” That certainly sounds like feedback for a high-end pro-model board to me. Dave is astute to pick up on the quality and precision of this ride.

Justin Connolly sounds just like Dave when it comes to the sizing. He notes that it rides like a 159, but he’d go shorter if possible. Other than lower scores of 3 out of 5 for playfulness and forgiveness, Justin scored the Iguchi Pro all 4’s the rest of the way. Like Dave again, we’re seeing very consistent and high scores across the board for the Iguchi Pro Camber. Justin states that the Iguchi Pro is “A board geared for powder or all mountain. Certainly, on the stiffer side. A little playful. I was able to ride switch comfortably. Versatile, just stiffer than I would prefer. Can edge to edge fast, rips on groomers. Geared towards an intermediate to advanced rider.” Blending the groomer with the big mountain performance makes a lot of sense for a pro rider who splits their time between the search of fresh snow and the reality of being in the resort.

Nobody’s saying that if you get this board that you’ll ride like Bryan Iguchi, but at least you’ll get a glimpse as to what he likes to ride on a day-to-day basis and decide whether that works for you or not. Certainly, this board comes with a high level of precision and performance allowing for aggressive riding and a ton of versatility. If you’re a fan of a stiffer flex and a snappy personality, the Bryan Iguchi Pro Camber might be the stick for you as well.
