As one of the most well-rounded boards that Ride makes, the Warpig is a great option for medium-aggressive riders who like to split their time equally between the park, groomers, and powder. It’s a little something for everyone, and everybody seems to really like the overall theme and character of this ride. Built with their Performance Core, the Warpig adds Carbon Array 3 to the mix. By placing carbon stringers in a diagonal format over the binding zones in front and back, they’re increasing the torsional stiffness and edge grip of the board while keeping the weight down and the playfulness up. There’s not too much carbon that make it too demanding or stiff, but rather just the right amount for fun seekers who are looking for a well-rounded behavior. It’s a tapered directional board with zero camber to it, so it’s drifty and smeary when the conditions get soft. The rocker in the tips and tails make it very floaty in the fresh while allowing for proper edge grip on firmer conditions. The squared-off shape in the nose and tail make it look and feel like a shorter board, so riders can feel confident in going with the shorter size board here.

John Gernt rode the 148, noting that “this is a size-down model, so the 148 seemed just right.” He scored it a 4 out of 5 for stability, and 3’s for flotation, forgiveness, torsional stiffness, edge hold, and overall impression. He notes that “For a full on directional shaped board, it still rode switch ok. Stable, wide, not super playful or forgiving. It might have been too long for me. Held and ok edge, did not have a lot of feel to it, kind of no-frills type of riding. Might be good in new snow.” Also on the 148, Anthony Palermo noted it was “short, but is recommended downsizing by up to 6 cm.” His sores were considerably higher than those on JG’s card, with 5’s running the board right across, stating that the Warpig is a “Really good board for all conditions. It has a unique shape and has a lot of characteristics. It would be great for powder or the groomers.” That’s just the way they drew it up in the catalog as well.

Connor Aswad rode the 151, and he felt it rode long for the length. His top mark was a 5 out of 5 for versatility, with 4’s for forgiveness, torsional stiffness, edge hold, playfulness, quickness, maneuverability, and flotation. All of those higher scores definitely make for a well-rounded ride. Connor backs up those scores with his commentary: “Some boards can do it all, mostly. Though this board was far from my top choice it could handle everything I threw it. People who are into the shorter board movement will enjoy having a directional stick that can surf the pow but still be playful in the park. From free riding on a west coast trip to tight east coast trees the quickness through turns and at one length, it can do it all.” Just knowing that one board can do all of these things is quite comforting. Maxx Connolly states about his 151: “The Warpig catches your eye with its awesome shape and doesn't disappoint once you're on the hill. Between big turns and fast carves you have a wonderful floaty ride, very much a surfy kind of feeling. Strong board for across the mountain and many conditions if you're into riding directional boards. Not as strong on hard groomers. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners but your average rider would enjoy this board.” Much like Connor, the versatility and range are highlighted by Maxx here.

Riders looking for a daily driver that can do a little bit of everything should take a square look at the Warpig. The unique shape and zero camber make a lot of sense for a wide span of snowboarders, as it allows for a huge variance in turn shape, style, and application.
