This new ski from Dynastar is an upgrade on the outgoing M-Free 99, and we’re all about it. By incorporating Dynastar’s Hybrid Core 2.0 into the ski we get added smoothness, stiffness, and power without removing much of the playfulness and creativity that the outgoing ski had plenty of. With a boost of energy to go along with the dramatic shape and style, this new ski will appeal to the harder charging crowd looking to blend on-trail rebound with off-trail versatility.

The main change here for 2026 is the use of Hybrid Core 2.0. This has now filtered into just about all of Dynastar’s skis as its main core construction technique. In this, they use three different layers of wood to create a smooth and energetic feel. The bottom layer of poplar sits below the top two which are milled and joined together to create one solid unit. They do this without as much epoxy and resin, allowing for a lowered footprint and increased energy due to the friction created by joinery. Dynastar then implements their polyurethane strips along the sides, adding silence and smoothness to the mix.
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Dynastar M-Free 100For the most part, this ski assumes the same shape as the outgoing model, with a few slight changes. The camber profile is a bit more dramatic, and with the increased stiffness, the middle of the ski is a lot stiffer. The tip and tail rocker is quite bendy, with a lot of splay in both tips and tails.
Dynastar has been at the forefront of the modern twin tip movement for over two decades, and a ski like the M-Free 100 is the culmination of all that technology, design, and heritage. We’ve loved all the versions of this ski in the past and continue enjoying the blend of energy and playfulness into the future. It works great on the feet of advanced and expert skiers for both all-mountain and freeride use.
