The 2027 Elan Wildcat 83 C is a carryover ski for this year featuring the same construction, shape, and graphics as last year. These skis are great options for advancing and progressing intermediates as well as advanced skiers who want a light and quick ski for on-piste fun. We don't get a very hefty build here, as the 82 C is a useful ski if you're looking for high mobility and easy turns.

Built with Elan's Laminated wood core, the skis use a PowerLine technology to add more emphasis to the downhill edge. Since Elan builds skis in an asymmetric format, they're able to take engineering liberties that other brands simply cannot pull off. This includes adding more material to the inside edge zone of the ski to provide more energy and stability. They also use a uni-directional carbon laminate along the inside edge that provides better rebound when combined with the laminated wood core. Without metal or carbon tubes, though, the energy and force is somewhat limited when we're thinking about upper-level skiing. Tester Cindy Morin notes that "This is a very light ski that skis well when it is on edge. This is a fine packed powder groomer ski. It is softer so it loses stability at high speed. It has an easy turn initiation. I think this a solid intermediate ski for women that want to improve carving on groomed trails. Would love more pop out of the turns."
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2027 Elan Wildcat 83 CElan is also to use their Amphibio profile in this ski to place different emphasis on various zones of the ski. We get measurements of 130/82/110 which generate a 13-meter turn radius in the 160 cm length. This makes for great short turns and easy transitions, even if it's not as high energy as the higher builds in the Wildcat collection. There's some rocker in the tips and tails, but the shape of the ski is decidedly more front side in nature. Tester Lisa Hessions-Kunz states: " These are my favorites today. Gave control and stability. Gave a lot of edge control without any slide."
The 2027 Elan Wildcat 83 C offers a lot of fun and ease of use for progressing skiers. If you're looking to take your carving and on-piste game to the next level, these will certainly aid you in that quest. With a shape in the mid-80's it's tough to deny that there's some conventional all-mountain versatility here, but for the most part these skis are built and shaped to prioritize front side carving and cleanly linked turns.
