2027 Head Kore 112 TI

For 2027, we get a structural carryover but with a new graphic in this ski. The Head Kore 112 Ti is a strong and surfy ski designed for deeper snow and more aggressive skiing. The best part about this ski is that it’s not necessarily married to that application as it still has a fun shape, light feel, and a longer turn radius that allows it to be manipulated and turned with ease in a variety of conditions and terrain. Ideally suited for advanced and expert skiers who are looking for a soft snow specialist, the Kore 112 Ti rips through crud and chop while staying afloat on wind packed and rugged conditions. This ski works great in technical zones due to the metal and profile while also feeling playful for creative and fun-loving skiing in mellower terrain. Over the past season, we put a lot of great days on this ski and now fully appreciate the blend of power and playfulness that this ski provides.

Head uses a sturdy construction in this ski to get the job done. Built with a blend of karuba and beech in the wood core, the skis get a graphene laminate for stiffness and response. In addition, we also see two sheets of metal that create damping and power when it comes to carving and motoring through adverse snow. The top surface consists of flax to reduce chipping and scratching while also increasing the damping of the ski. It’s a very stable and smooth ski as well with minimal chatter. The lack of bouncing is a big plus when it comes to charging bigger lines and taking a more aggressive approach to the mountain. Tester Matt Stromecki notes that “This thing is a beast! It's heft and powerful without much playfulness but it makes total sense why it was designed for athletes on the freeride world tour. It is incredibly stable at high speeds and through variable snow, but have the float needed to stomp landings. It takes a lot of strength, especially at it's weight, but is an awesome big mountain ski.” It’s got a stiff flex, but is totally approachable for skilled skiers.

This is a pretty fat ski to have this much metal, and we’re here for it. At 112 mm underfoot, this is a wide-bodied ski with a fair amount of tip and tail rocker. The Kore series gets progressively more dramatic in terms of taper and rocker as they get wider, so this 112 is on the curvier side of the Kore spectrum. With measurements of 140/112/128, the ski generates a 21-meter turn radius in the 184 which is on the long side. This allows skiers to be more creative with their turn shapes, letting it run when needed but also capable of being thrown sideways for slashy and smeary turns with ease. There’s a good amount of taper here as well, offering a lot to like when it comes to playful powder performance. Bob St.Pierre “got to ski this on a sweet early season powder day here at Stowe and this thing ripped. It was so darn stable and powerful on trail, but when you bounce into the woods, it becomes surprisingly agile. I still think it’s best when used in more open zones, but for the size and style of the ski, I was shocked at how nimble it was, even in the 191 cm length.”

This is a somewhat specific ski that doesn’t have a huge market, but operates very well in that zone. Best suited for advanced and expert skiers, the Head Kore 112 Ti makes quick work of adverse conditions and terrain. It’s an ideal ski for a snowy day, so depending on where you ski most of the time, it could be a good specialist for powder but if you prefer wider skis it could be more useful more of the time due to the strong carving performance and damp metallic feel. We get a lot of technology here to go along with a progressive and fun-seeking shape.
