2027 Line Pandora 106

The 2027 Line Pandora 106 gets a graphic change for this year but returns otherwise unchanged. Built with a sturdy feel and a playful shape, the Pandora 106 is a soft snow specialist that’s easy to turn and fun to use. With a bit of heft to it due to the width, the Pandora 106 does function quite well both on and off-trail. We found a surprising amount of stability and power in a carved turn on groomers, even though it’s not really intended and designed for that use. The smoothness carries forward into all sorts of terrain and offers a predictable and confident feel from tip to tail.

This is simply a pared down version of the Optic series, but keeps a lot of the same vibes throughout. Built with an aspen veneer wood core, the Pandora 106 is a relatively simple ski. Line uses their Bio Resin for a lower environmental impact, and they also implement their Thick Cut Sidewalls here for added damping. The thicker the sidewalls, the more they act as a vertical laminate, reducing vibrations and adding stability to the ski. Underfoot, these skis feel quite sturdy, and that’s reflected in the stated weight of 2160 grams per ski in the 183 cm length. We get lengths spanning from 155 to 189, so many skiers are covered here. Tester Noah Labow kept his feedback short and sweet following scores of 10/10 for playfulness and overall impression. He states: “Love this ski. Any terrain, this ski is fun and forgiving.” That’s what it’s all about when it comes to mixing freeride and creative terrain.

This ski works great in all sorts of conditions. At 106 mm underfoot, there’s certainly a soft and deep snow bias here, but this ski is not limited to that. With measurements of 134/106/125, this ski is all about balance. There’s slight symmetry here with not a lot of drop in overall taper, leading to that playfulness that Noah was talking about. Pandora 106 uses more tip rocker than tail, but still keeps a very twin-tip oriented style to the ski. Those measurements generate an 18.4-meter turn radius in the 183, which is right in the middle, leading to a well-rounded feel. Tester Christian Strong says that he “thought this was a playful ski given the larger width. Very fun turns through the springtime corn snow.” With ample splay in the tails, this ski does have some nice natural feature capacity too.

We like this ski for a lot of skiers who are looking for metal-free freeride construction. There should be a big audience here, as the Pandora 106 is not only a unisex model, but also one that spans various snow conditions and terrain. It makes a great tree ski due to the flotation and mobility, but also works well on-trail, especially for not having metal and being on the wider side. This is a highly enjoyable ski that makes soft snow easy and fun and not a lot of work. On the bonus side, you get a bit of heft and stability to increase confidence and power throughout. Add the dramatic shape to the mix and the Pandora 106 is ready for fun and adventure.
