For 2027 the Rossignol Arcade W 84 is a carryover ski with the same shape, construction, and graphics as last year. The Rossignol Arcade W 84 is a sharp and crisp turner that loves to be engaged in the snow. At 84 mm underfoot, it’s primed and ready for all-mountain use with an emphasis on front side carving performance. The Arcade brings even more overall heft and power to the mix, providing smooth and capable carves on any surface. While the skis are a bit more carving-oriented than most other skis here in this width range, they bring that level up and provide such a clean and energetic feel. The snap and pop of the tail is not to be missed. These are some of the best carving all-mountain skis out there and work great on the feet of intermediate through expert skiers. With a stiffer flex and a shorter radius, these have a slalom mentality mixed with all-mountain versatility.

Rossignol uses a solid construction with the Arcade W 84. Built with a thick poplar wood core, these skis are all business. The stiffness due to the thickness is all there, providing a strong and predictable feel from tip to tail. The skis utilize a titanal beam underfoot to increase edge grip and power while the Line Control Technology ensures tip to tail stability and energy. LCT has long been known to prevent counter flexing and keep the ski on its intended course, and that continues with Arcade 84 W. Rossignol states a weight of 1750 grams per ski in the 168 cm length, so these have some heft to them, especially given the narrower shape. Tester Cindy Morin states that “This a solid stable ski! It holds an edge well. It skis a little flat and the tip is a bit heavy feeling. They don't pop you out of the turn but are easy to tip into the turn. Grood ski for east coast groomers.”

These Arcade W 84’s use a very classic style in terms of footprint. There’s not a whole lot of rocker or taper in this ski; it’s got a lot of camber and a fairly square shape. This provides excellent tip to tail edge contact and a smooth overall feel. That said, they do like to be engaged, so smearing or drifting is not part of the main protocol here. There’s also a lot of camber underfoot, in height, stiffness, and length, providing a ton of built-in energy throughout the ski. In that 168, the ski uses measurements of 132/84/120 to generate a 14-meter radius. That’s on the short side for a ski with such a stiff flex, so it does take some effort to find that true arc. Kristi Brown Lovell notes that “The Arcade allows the skier to easily play around with radius and terrain without being demanding or limited. I was impressed with the noticeable edge hold under boot which lent to extra power on reserve when on demand.”

Best when used mainly in an on-trail format, the Arcade W 84 loves to be used in a purely carved turn. The skier who finds a lot of success here will be an intermediate through advanced skier who loves to carve clean and short arcs. If versatility is a big part of the equation, there are wider and more surfy skis out there, but for those who are looking to link carving turns on groomers with a solid and stable feel, Arcade 84 W is the place to be.
