2027 Rossignol Soul 92 & 92 W On Snow Ski Review

FEBRUARY 18, 2026 | WRITTEN BY Bob St.Pierre

The 2027 Rossignol Soul 92 is an all-new ski for this year, picking up where the previous Sender Soul 92 left off and adding a bunch of Soul 102 DNA to the mix. Rossignol has further divided their model lines to increase simplicity, with the Sender series containing the twin tips, like the 100 and 110, while the Soul line is comprised of the 102 (which returns structurally unchanged) and this new 92, which is basically a narrower version of the 102. In the past, the 92 was more of a tweener ski with a lighter wood core and shorter sizes. For 2027, they’re beefing up the build, increasing length options, and making a real all-mountain ski that focuses on fun and versatility.

Built with a poplar wood core and metal underfoot, the Soul 92 is a stronger ski than it has been in the past, offering increased performance and stability for advanced skiers. In addition to the wood and metal, the skis also use Rossignol’s Line Control Technology, running a vertical ABS strip through the central chord of the ski. It also gets Air Tip to lighten the swing weight and increase the mobility of the ski. It does feel pretty light still—that's something that hasn’t changed, whether you’re viewing this ski as an extension of the Sender Soul 92 or even an older Sender 94 Ti, or even Escaper, if your Rossignol memory goes that far back. We haven’t had the chance to weigh the longer lengths yet, but Rossignol’s catalog shows a stated weight of 1400 g/ski in the 166 cm length. Like the Soul 102, the flex is on the stiffer side thanks to a thicker core profile, but it does feel like a step or two easier than the burlier 102, despite similar construction methods.

As an all-mountain ski, the Soul 92 has a very universal shape. Featuring measurements of 125/92/115, there’s not much that’s offensive or untoward about these skis—they are clearly meant to fit into the daily ski routine of a huge number of skiers. That 166 produces a 15-meter turn radius, and it does get longer as you go to longer lengths. It does feel like the skis can make a variety of turn shapes and styles depending on the whim of the skier as well as the terrain and conditions. The rocker profile is based in reality, with camber underfoot to go along with slight tip and tail rocker—this is again set up to please as many skiers as possible and hit the middle of a variety of attributes.

On snow, and in this case on-piste, this is a very fun ski. It’s easy to turn, has great energy, and possesses more stability than the lighter weight lets on. Like most skis with lighter tips, it takes a brief second longer to engage in a carve, especially when placed against a more frontside-oriented ski like the Arcade 94. Once you’re in the central portion of the ski, and especially underfoot where the metal is, the Soul 92 grips and rips through the finish phase of the turn. There’s not endless stability and power here, but there’s enough for most advanced skiers, especially those who are continuing to improve their skills and expand their horizons and boundaries. Quick and short turns are especially a treat, as this Soul 92 is insanely mobile and responsive when pushed into more skidded style turns. This allows for easy direction changes and variety when it comes to turn adaptation. While skis with more metal will ultimately grip better on ice and provide more damping and stability at speed, the Soul 92 holds its own quite well, especially given how versatile it is in an all-mountain format.

Off trail, this ski is just so darn approachable. The light weight and easy initiation translate to adverse conditions and terrain quite easily. The Soul 92 lets you know when it’s had enough in terms of plowing through heavy crud or choppy snow, but in bumps, trees, or other technical places where quickness and mobility is an asset, they just eat it up. If you find yourself in deeper snow a lot, or if you’re in need of increased power and stability, the Soul 102 is clearly a stronger option, but again, we’re aiming for the masses with this one—92 underfoot and highly agile is a great place to be for a vast majority of skiers out there. If you’re looking to get down any trail, any zone, any realm in style and with ease, the Soul 92 is the ski to do it.

The 2027 Rossignol Soul 92 is a fantastic addition to the lineup. Now that they have their boundaries established with increased clarity, it’s easy to see how these Soul series skis stack up and align with more of an all-mountain and directional feel, and it makes good sense. There’s a broad range of skier type here as well, as this could be an excellent choice for a progressing skier who is looking to develop skills without being overwhelmed. At the same time, an advanced or expert skier who just wants a fun and easy ski that won’t tax the legs over the course of the day will find a lot of fun and excitement here.
