I really liked this ski. Its surfy and loose but you can still carve a turn with it.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Variable new snow, spring corn, groomers if you don't mind wider skis.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to expert. It's a bit stiff and requires some comfortability with speed to get the most out of it.

It seemed like it was going to be short but ends up being the perfect length

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This is easily a top 2 or 3 skis for me for 2026. I wasn't sure what it was going to be like, but was super-impressed with this ski's edge grip, stability, and overall power and performance. It's got a flatter tail but still long rocker, so it holds on tight to the end of the turn. It's also able to be quick and agile if skied flatly.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This is a pretty rare and unique ski. There's not really one area in which it's intended, although it does seem to excel on groomers, which is kinda crazy given that it's a 101 with no metal. I'm looking forward to skiing it in spring conditions.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This one may trip some people up. Since it has no metal, it could be mistaken for an intermediate ski, but it's got a thick and burly wood core and is quite stiff so actually works better for advanced and expert skiers. Also it's not a traditional shape, so most of the mid-range skiers may get confused as to what this ski is aimed at doing.

Hard charging for a lighter weight Volkl. Edge to edge is very smooth, and the ski will lay over for a long Super G turn or go quick in the bumps. Absolutely outstanding.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I know this isn’t the Volkl tagline, but I’d call these skis “seriously fun.” I say that because I wouldn’t say they’re particularly playful - they’re a bit serious due to their stiffer flex (particularly in the tail). But, they’re also extremely maneuverable and lively, which results in a ski that loves charging and is happy to take on anything you throw at it. It’s not soft, it’s not playful, it’s not buttery - it’s serious. But, it’s also just a ton of fun if you’re in a chargey mood.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Really anything. Probably nothing too deep, but everything from bumps and technical terrain to open groomers are good to go on the Revolt 101.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Upper intermediates through experts would love this ski. For true intermediates, the stiffer flex might be a bit much.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

Just a touch more tail rise would make these more fun to ski switch, which would go a long ways.

Really fun, while still being surprisingly strong and stable. Reminds me of a wider Nordica Unleashed 98 CA but with slightly worse edge hold, and a more poppy qst 100. Not overly twin tippy in a good way.

Everywhere except very firm snow. Anything soft, the ski is awesome.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

I liked this ski a lot from the very first turn. It’s not as powerful in the 182 length as I would’ve liked but it was a fun ski for the current spring conditions. Approachable and easy to initiate turns but had some backbone to ski harder too.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This feels like a good east coast tree skiing ski. It’s maneuverable in the tighter spaces while still being able to ski larger turns. It’s a great all mountain to Freeride ski.

Intermediate to expert skier.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

A longer length would likely give me a better ski to fit the style I’m looking for but I would reserve the judgment to make any changes beyond that until I ski the 189 length.

Damp, stable, and mounted too forward. Feels like you have to ski off your shin and like yes I know the ski is designed with a high progressive mount point but 2 to 3 cm back would likely feel better for how I ski.

A confidence-inspiring ski. stiffer than expected but an excellent freeride inspired 101.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Soft chop to hard pack, hard-charging, definitely a ski built for aggressive skiing yet not hard to ski or lethargic at lower speeds.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Intermediate to expert. This ski can go faster than you can and insirping confidence and the pushing of yourself and the ski.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

I wish it was a little lighter; this would make it easier to ski at lower speeds and make it easier to reel back in from higher speeds.

If you are a soft snow junkie this is your fix. A very playful ski which was very easy to maneuver through changing terrain. A real delight. Due to the powder and soft snow I really wasn't able to judge the firm edge hold. Nonetheless; in the soft snow it sure put a smile on my face!

From the woods to the groomers this ski was quick and easy. Knife like precision.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This thing is something special. So unique and an awesome experience overall. It should not be able to carve as well as it does. Truly punches so high when it comes to carving, especially because it does not have any metal. Perfect choice for just about all conditions due to it's ability to carve, bust crud, and just flat out carve. I personally found that it isn't the easiest or most intuitive when it comes to pure powder performance. Just felt that they weren't the most maneuverable, but then that's what the Revolt 104 will do better. Such a sick ski.

Groomers, variable conditions in variable freeride terrain.

Upper advanced to expert skiers would get the most out of this ski. Less experienced skiers than that will likely have a tough time figuring this ski out.
