DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Head Oblivion 102 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings was built for soft snow and creative skiing. A Carbon Sandwich Twintip Construction, a PET-Wood core, and the TNT Rocker profile add up to a versatile freeride ski that floats in fresh snow, takes switch landings in stride, and is reliable everywhere in between. We paired the Oblivion 102 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The recycled PET stringers in the core keep the ski light, add a damped feel that soaks up hard landings, and bring a real environmental angle to the build with no performance cost.

Who it's for:

Strong freeskiers who want a wider, stiff platform for soft snow, side hits, and creative all-mountain riding. It's great for skiers who like to fold a little bit of everything into their day.

Highlights:

The PET-Wood core blends poplar with recycled PET bottle stringers, a light, low-impact build that gives nothing away on performance. Carbon layers run through the Sandwich Twintip construction to add stability and shed weight where it counts, and the Independent Suspension System damps the ski selectively so the contact points stay quiet while the rest of it flexes naturally. Tuff-Wall and Tuff-Edge protection buys real longevity. TNT Rocker is the playful twin-tip profile behind it all, with moderate tip and tail rocker for float. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

It's not a directional carving ski, so skiers chasing groomer-focused precision should look elsewhere. It's also quite stiff, and demands a strong skier who knows how to drive this type of ski and can handle the longer radius.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski on the long side, so sizing down is often the move.

Escape this ski on Stowe gondolier and played it off the side of the groomers a little bit.
Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
Due to their maneuverability and weight, I would recommend sizing up.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
There’s more ski here than lets on, on the basis of the aesthetic and weight when you get it under you. I was immediately comfortable in it. It was happy doing short, quick, snappy turns and a bunch of different radii and was pleased that when I leaned it over there was a decent amount of ski there to support me.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
This is an all mountain ski certainly more off piste and freeride oriented.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Intermediate and advanced skiers will absolutely love this ski, expert skiers will want to size up and may find it a tad limiting.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
A pleasant ski, I was pleased with its personality, being responsive and quick, and giving me a little feedback in the turns. It didn’t necessarily excite me, but I think if I had sized up, I may have appreciated the platform a bit more.
