New for 2021, the Dynastar M-Pro 84 follows more in line with the Legend 84 of yesteryear than the other M-Pro models. Built with a wood core and diago fibers for stiffness, the skis are pretty simple and straight-forward, and as a result, appeal to a large group of skiers. At 84 mm underfoot, the skis have that front-side and all-mountain line pretty blurred. Since it's a flat ski with no system binding, it's pretty darn light and easy to turn. The 17-meter turn radius at 177 cm length is fun and versatile, allowing the skier to have more input as to the shape and duration of the turns. Aimed squarely at the intermediate to advanced category, these skis are going to find a big audience out there, and the combination of quickness and versatility is going to make this an incredibly successful ski right out of the gate.

On the 177, Jeff Neagle loved the quickness and maneuverability, as well as the playfulness and forgiveness, with each of those categories earning 4's out of 5. "This is a really nice all-mountain ski. You don't get the metal in the 90 or 99, but I'm glad they left it out as it makes this 84 more accessible and more approachable for less aggressive or intermediate level skiers. You still get the shape benefits of the new M-Pro line too. Super versatile tip and tail shape, in fact this 84 actually feels even more maneuverable than the 90 and 99 as it has a little more rise and more taper in the tail. Quick and nimble, but also can hold an edge on firm snow too. An expert skier or someone who's really aggressive may want a stiffer, more powerful ski, but I think the vast majority of skiers in the world would benefit from skiing an M-Pro 84. Really good ski for a skier who is progressing and trying to improve their ability level and overall technique. It's a great tool for learning moguls, trees, and other off-piste terrain, but still feels right at home just cruising groomers, which in my opinion is really important for an intermediate level skier." A bit more mellow than the wider skis in the line, the 84 certainly has its own niche carved out for it.

Also on the 177 and with similar scores, Phil McGrory pegs this ski for more of the front-side cruiser as well. "The M-Pro 84 has a solid feel on firm snow for the skier who wants stability in an all-mountain ski but is versatile and forgiving enough to handle variable terrain. Ideal for Intermediate skiers." While the intermediate crowd will certainly love the 84, the skis do have a pretty high-performance ceiling that more advanced and lighter expert skiers will enjoy. Fellow Pinnacle colleague Steve Sulin skied the 184 and noted the skis strengths "lie in shorter turns, so they're really fun in bumps and trees. Anywhere that you need to make a quick turn, these skis are nimble and easy to get around. There's a lot of skiers out there who will love the maneuverability and ease of use of the M-Pro 84." Thanks to the lighter build and the narrower waist of the skis, those shorter turns are easy to come by for sure, and this will appeal to a large group of skiers.

The all-new Dynastar M-Pro 84 for 2021 is a fantastic option for intermediate and advanced skiers who spend the majority of their time on the front side of the mountain, but don't want a system ski or a carving-specific tool. Better suited for medium turns at medium speeds, these skis hit a large swath of skiers all from coast to coast.
