For the 2021 season, Fischer has given us two color options in all of their all-mountain skis. No more men's and women's specific skis, just skis with lots of lengths and two colors to choose from. That's exactly the case for this Ranger 92 Ti. It's the same as it was in the men's collection for 2020, but depending on how you look at it, this is a new ski for women for the 2021 ski season. The Ranger 92 Ti is designed for versatile all-mountain performance. It uses Fischer's Aeroshape profile with their Carbon Nose. That Carbon nose connects to a metal laminate that widens to full width underfoot, then ends before the tail. That said, the tail of the ski is flat and still relatively stiff, which gives the ski a lot of power and a preference for finishing a turn rather than washing, skidding, or smearing.

Allison Ruschp skied the 163 cm length in the Ranger 92 Ti and really enjoyed its performance. Alli skied a longer length in the Ranger 99 Ti, which she found to be a bit much for her size and ability level, so it's interesting to see what a difference it can make dropping down both in length and waist width. "Such a fun all-mountain ski. Feels smooth and stable on groomers and makes clean, round carving turns. On this ski I felt like I could get off trail and maneuver it easily enough for bumps and trees, something that was hard for me on the 99 Ti." The narrower waist width not only results in a ski that's quicker edge to edge, it's also lighter because it uses less materials. Add those things together and you've got a ski with increased maneuverability, not to mention Alli skied a shorter length in the 92. "Good one ski quiver for an eastern lady. Wide enough for most soft snow days, narrow enough for ripping turns on groomers."

Alli tested the Ranger 92 Ti in the resort, but it's interesting to note that Fischer includes a skin attachment point on the tail of the Ranger Ti series. You might not guess they'd have it based off just their performance on trail, but they really are light enough to use as touring skis. Not super lightweight, but pretty efficient for the uphill. Mount it with a binding like the Salomon Shift and you've got a ski that can carve turns on firm snow, ski in-bounds un-groomed terrain, and that you can also take into the backcountry or use for early morning tours before the lifts start spinning.

Overall, we've been really impressed by the Ranger collection in the past few years and we're excited to see the same shape and construction we've had on the men's side available in shorter lengths for women now. The previous women's Rangers were good skis too, but these take it to the next level. If you haven't tried a Ranger, you need to, and the Ranger 92 Ti would be a good place to start thanks to its versatile feel and even mix of performance characteristics.
