Floaty in the fresh, and incredibly fun, the Arbor Single Camber snowboard is ideally suited for deep and soft snow on the feet of more experienced riders. This board contains a whole lot of attributes and qualities that make it one of the better floaters of the bunch. It’s always interesting seeing how different boards are shaped different ways in order to achieve the same result. The fish tail/swallow tail has taken over recently as the strong floaters of the bunch, but the Single Camber kind of turns that around. The fact that it has camber makes the whole thing even more interesting. By placing more of a pointed shape at the end of the board, it makes the rear portion more receptive to rider input, placing more of an emphasis on playful, surfy, and smeary performance.

Built with a Highland Core II, the Single Camber also has a Hand Dyed Ash Powerply topsheet that not only looks great, but also delivers an added level of power and responsiveness to the mix. Mixed Glassing in the construction adds a ton of energy and snap to the build, allowing for a high level of precision and power. Fiberglass is quite poppy, so when it’s added in a multi-directional format like in the Single Camber, it adds a lot of rebound to the performance of the board. Camber underfoot in the board only increases this level of grip and energy versus a rockered system, and for riders who are looking to get back the energy that they put in, building the camber into the board makes a whole lot of sense.

In a powder format and scenario, the Single Camber uses Arbor’s 5-degree powder fenders. These lipped areas in the forebody of the board allow for silky smooth transitions between turns as well as a smeary personality that adds to the fun-factor of the ride from top to bottom. It’s a simple concept, but the reality of it works so incredibly well—being able to fine-tune the performance and float of the ride by bending and shaping the board goes a very long way in creating a unique style and personality of the Single Camber. Additionally, the Thunderhead tip shape cuts through the fresh, crud, and chop like a boat hull through waves, making it seem like that rough stuff isn’t even there. The smooth nature of the board really shines as a result of this tapered tip shape.

Intermediate to advanced riders who are looking for something smeary and surfy to handle both big mountain deep days as well as resort riding will love the innovative shaping concepts of the Arbor Single Camber. It does a whole lot out there on the hill, but especially when it comes to the soft stuff.
