The Marie-France Roy inspired Veda Camber board from Arbor is a fun-loving directional ride that loves to be used in powder and big-mountain zones, but is also happy with in-bounds resort riding as well. The Veda Camber starts with Arbor’s Highland II core and boosts the performance with a hand dyed Ash powerply laminate. This not only looks really sharp as the top laminate, but it also lends the power and dampness of the Ash to the performance of the board. Mixed glassing puts different laminates of fiberglass functioning in different directions, offering a ton of snap and energy both in and out of the turns. When the snow gets soft, riders will benefit from the .8 cm taper shape as well as the 1.5-degree uprise fenders. By shaping the front of the board this way, Arbor is adding float and smear to the structure of the board, and that’s pretty smart for when riders encounter the softer stuff. This Veda Camber has a fantastic combination of energy and flotation for a wide-variety of uses and applications.

Rosalie Wright-Lapin rode the 150 and noted that it was very much true to size. Her top mark, unsurprisingly, was a 5 out of 5 for flotation, but that was bookended with some lower scores of 1 out of 5 for versatility, and 2’s for torsional stiffness, edge hold, quickness, and maneuverability. Her 3 out of 5 for overall impression brings it back to average, and in her experience, she notes that the specificity of the board made it tough to judge effectively. “It’s hard to rate this board accurately because it’s clearly a powder board and conditions were not right for it. It’s longer up front and shorter in the back for good flotation. In theory, it makes sense. In practice given today’s conditions, it did not. Maneuverability was incredibly hard and it’s not very forgiving, so it did not seem versatile at all.” As a result, we have to infer that if a board doesn’t stack up in one area, it likely will excel in the opposite. We can use this tactic to mean that for powder, this Veda Camber will stay right on top. That’s the silver lining approach for sure.

Kayla Bates found more to like about the Veda Camber, and she was on the 150 as well, noting it’s trueness to size, and a preferable length for her. She gave it 5’s out of 5 for flotation, quickness, maneuverability, and overall impression. We see 4’s next for stability, playfulness, forgiveness, versatility, torsional stiffness, and edge hold. As a result of those consistently high scores, Kayla backs it up by stating that “it’s a fun all-mountain board with effortless riding.” That’s a very succinct way of stating that she enjoyed her time on the Veda Camber for sure.

For a pro rider-inspired board, the Arbor Veda Camber is an excellent choice for advanced riders who are looking to spend more time in softer snow and powder. This is a great directional option for cruising through powder, ripping down big-mountain lines, or just smearing around the resort. Thanks to Arbor’s shaping, construction, and cambered profile system, the Veda Camber can be used in a variety of applications all day long.
