Designed with Ride’s Women’s Performance core, the Magic Stick is a fantastic choice for lady riders who spend most of their time on groomers and seeking out powder. This is a great all-mountain board that has a whole lot going for it, in addition to having some high-tech features that make it feel and perform at a higher caliber overall. Built for riders that are at a medium level of aggressiveness, the Magic Stick is a directional board that has extra camber for grip and pop. With a relatively rounded shape that will transition directly into how the board feels and performs on snow, the Magic Stick loves to make clean and round arcs on the groomers while keeping things smooth and stable in fresh, soft, and deeper snow.

In addition to the lighter wood core, the Magic Stick also features Carbon Array 3 that uses diagonally strung carbon stringers that boost the torsional stiffness and grip without adding weight. Since they cross over the binding zone, they take advantage of the leverage of your boot in order to add stiffness and responsiveness. Carbon is also found in a linear fashion, with two wider stringers running nearly the full-length of the board along the sides. These add stiffness in a longitudinal format, making the Magic Stick stiffer to the flex and more poppy and energetic overall. The directional taper shape of the board makes it clean and smooth from the start to finish of the turn, while the extra camber underfoot combines nicely with the carbon to get a ton of precision and grip to the edges. For riders looking to spend most of their time on groomers and finding the fluff, the Ride Magic Stick is a fantastic option.

Catilin Kelley rode the 147, and while it was too short for her, she did find that it rides true to its size. On the scorecard, we see a lot of 5’s out of 5 for overall impression, versatility, torsional stiffness, edge hold quickness, maneuverability, stability, and flotation. She gave 4’s for playfulness and forgiveness, but overall, this is a high spread of scores showing the upper-end feel and character of the Magic Stick. Caitlin notes that this is a “Super fun all-mountain directional snowboard. Perfect for any intermediate to advanced rider. Camber between the bindings provided both response and stability. This board is very versatile. It would be super fun on a powder day and would also rip on daily groomers.” That range is super-important to a lot of riders, since for the most part, groomers are the majority, but you don’t want to give up any potential powder performance if it happens to snow.

Ladies who like to ride the all-mountain conditions and terrain will love the versatile and responsive Magic Stick. Thanks to the shape, profile, and construction of the board, riders of the intermediate level will find a ton of precision due to the carbon and camber as well as floaty fun due to the wider-bodied and tapered shape.
