For fun and easy riding, the Rossignol Evader is a fantastic choice for intermediate riders looking to get on their first board and find instant success. Built with a fairly standard and approachable wood core, the Evader is an awesome directional all-mountain board that is equally at home on the groomers as it is in the powder and trees. With a pretty rounded shape and profile, the Evader is able to be a lot of different things to a variance of riders. Mainly, though, the more flexible pattern of the ride allows for progressing riders to find forgiveness and balance regardless of conditions or terrain.

PREFERRED TERRAIN
All Mountain, Groomers, Powder
As a directional board, the Evader possesses 40% rocker in the tip and 30 in the tail while the underfoot zone is cambered and ready for action. By cambering the middle of the board, the Evader is able to generate a lot of power and energy while keeping the tip and tail surfy and friendly. Thanks to this shape and profile, riders of the Evader will be able to tackle the deepest snow and the firmest groomers. Camber contributes to edge grip, so this board can hook up with the best of them, and the more approachable flex pattern allows riders to access the entirety of the sidecut in order to achieve higher edge angles and deeper carves. Their Amptek Auto-Turn Rocker makes the Evader feel incredibly smooth and agile for a variety of rider types and styles. With Setback inserts that put more emphasis on the directional nature of this board, intermediates will get the feel of a pure carve and an easy-turning board with a high-performance ceiling.
Jarrod Ogden rode the 154 and noted that it was a good length for him. He scored it a lot of 3’s on the scorecard showing the well-rounded nature of the board, although not at the highest level. His low scores of 2 out of 5 were given for torsional stiffness and edge hold, which are not surprising given the flexible nature of the Evader. Jarrod states that “this is a good intermediate twin for a rider looking to up their game. It can handle the whole mountain including some mellow park laps.” That combination of performance and approachability is great for a ton of riders, and Jarrod is picking up on the versatility of the Evader in this regard.
Intermediate riders will inevitably find a whole lot to like about the Rossignol Evader. From the flexible and supportive nature to the directional all-mountain shape and profile, the Evader is able to do many different things at the same time, and riders will love its ability to adapt to a multitude of terrain and snow conditions. The well-rounded nature really stands out, placing this board in the “must ride” category for emerging riders.
