Welcome to the future of snowboarding with the 2023 Rossignol Revenant. This top-of-the-line board is designed for skilled and expert riders who want the best of both worlds – a twin shape for surfy, freestyle riding and performance, and a serrated edge sidecut for carving turns. Adding to its versatility, it also has a zest for powder, thanks to the shape and profile. The wood core is lightweight yet durable, and the sintered base provides exceptional glide and speed. With an 8/10 flex, it is stiff enough for high-speed riding but still allows for flexibility when needed. The Amptek All Mountain rocker/camber profile provides superior floatation and stability in all conditions, making this board an excellent choice for any terrain. Plus the RadCut design blends traditional and reverse sidecuts with a flat base, giving riders powerful edge grip and playful smearability. Whether you're tearing up the slopes or hitting the backcountry, the Rossignol Revenant will help you reach your full potential.

Maxx Connolly and Jarrod both tested the 154 in length and agreed that it was just right. Each with their own take, their scores reflect similarities as well as differences as far as how the Revenant performed. For Maxx, we see a few low scores across the board, with flotation, stability, and versatility earning a 3/5. Where he found this board really lacked though was in torsional stiffness, which is interesting to hear given the stiff flex and camber underfoot. To hear it from him, his takeaway was “I had an awesome time with this board. Felt like I wanted to pop off every bump and find every side hit possible. Riding fast and carving through the chunky conditions this afternoon was not a problem. Highly versatile board for a moderate to advanced rider. This would be a great day to day board for me.” It’s always great to hear a tester refer to a new board as a potential daily driver! Looking at Jarrod’s scores, he awarded the highest score of 5/5 to playfulness, with 4’s given for stability, maneuverability, forgiveness, torsional stiffness, versatility and overall impression. Only one 3 was handed out for flotation, which was the same for Maxx and goes to show that despite having many strengths, it may not be a powder board necessarily. He thought that the Revenant was “better at home in the park, but can rally around the hill. Good twin shape with good edge hold characteristics.”
Giving us a look at a slightly longer board, Sam Whitney took the 162 out and found it to be true to size. As for his scores, he too found the board lacked in flotation, giving it a 3. This consistency across three testers is proof of why we do the snowboard test in the first place! It really helps to give us a thorough review of a board to find out the strengths, weaknesses, and intended use. All other scores, aside from a 3 for torsional stiffness, earned 4’s and 5’s, which show that despite the fact that it may not be great for strictly powder or carving, it sure does have versatility. Giving us an in-depth review, Sam mentioned “Super stable freestyle twin-tip. The camber between your feet allows it to feel stable at speed while the rocker in the tip and tail starts right at the bindings and allows it to be playful and buttery. Grip-tech edges put an extra contact point under each of your feel that is easy to control and essentially gives the board 2 different turning radii. One is long and stable at higher speeds while if you push harder, it tightens and becomes a tight radius for quick turns. I would recommend this board for someone who wants a single board to be able to handle everything freestyle and still ride the whole mountain smoothly.”
For advanced to expert riders who not only enjoy the thrill of ripping fast, powerful turns but who also like to show off a little freestyle flair, the Rossignol Revenant allows for many different maneuvers. Though it may not be the number one pick for a powder board, if you’re looking for versatility, agility and strength, the Revenant is sure to impress.
