The Liberty Scope series is a playful and surfy set of skis with the 99 serving as a good mid-width for creative and variable skiers. By utilizing a twin tip shape and a freeride-oriented profile, the Scope 99 is useful for freestyle fans and park enthusiasts who are looking to expand their bounds and hook into the adventurous side of skiing. These skis are very much at home both in the park and in the woods. While groomer skiing isn’t a highlight here, the Scope 99 is still a lot of fun in softer corduroy.

Built with a poplar wood core, the Scope 99 is light and consistent. While they use thinner core profiles in the tips and tails to achieve a more flexible feel, they beef it up underfoot with a thicker core profile. In addition, Liberty uses a phenolic plate underfoot to increase stiffness and binding retention. Phenol is a stiffer plastic that’s normally found in race ski sidewalls, but Liberty is being creative here and laying it flat for energy and response. Tester Landel Cochran notes: “I found the shape of this ski to be a little bit different. It appears the max width at the tips carries a bit higher into the rocker portions than your average ski and it took some getting used to. It is a very capable ski and I would be happy to give it a day to get used to the shape.”
The Rocker / Camber / Rocker profile of the 2026 Liberty Scope 99In terms of shape and profile, these skis certainly have more of a twin-tip look and feel. There’s not a ton of drama in the rise or splay, but it’s certainly enough to ensure proper freestyle and slopestyle performance. Landel continues to note that “This is a very solid all around ski. Not too demanding but ready to tackle all conditions. It smears well and would be a lot of fun in deeper snow as well.” With measurements of 130/99/120, the Scope 99 produces a 19.5-meter turn radius in the 180 cm length. This is a bit straighter than average and fits in well with the smeary, drifty, and slashy mentality of the ski.
There are a lot of wonderful twin tips in this category. While some, like the Nordica Unleashed 98 excel in carved turns and smoothness, and others, like the Elan Playmaker 101 offer incredibly light weight mobility, this Scope 99 is somewhere in the middle. As a result, it’s going to hit a larger market and target more skiers who are looking for a fun and exciting ski for mixing off-trail terrain with park and backcountry use.
