The Flat Out camber profile delivers a predictable foundation underfoot with plentiful stability and responsiveness from tip to tail. Salomon went a step further to ensure confidence-building reliability by including “bite free” edges that allow for a variety of turn shapes and sizes while eliminating the risk of catching an edge. Among the variety of technologies used to make the Lotus, the overall intention was to design a friendly, approachable board for beginners up to intermediate riders who simply want an intuitive ride full of fun and predictability.
Adriane Morrison-Taylor tested the 146 in length and though she found it to be short, she also said it was true to size. If she were to choose a size for herself, she would go with the 151. As for her scores, we see a mix of 3’s and 4’s across the board with stability, torsional stiffness, and overall impression earning the higher of the two. For a lightweight, maneuverable board to earn higher scores in stability and torsional stiffness proves that the Lotus is nimble and approachable yet provides a reliable foundation for strong performance and confidence-building technique. Adriane’s overall impression was “the Lotus is a sweet all-mountain board with a solid underfoot contact offering stable turns. Lotus offered me mild pop and flex as a trade-off for more stable turns with less chatter. I was comfortable leaning into the groomers and bombing the lower mountain sections. I prefer more pop for optional terrain tricks but would include Lotus in my quiver for hard packed, fast mornings.”
The Salomon Lotus Women’s Snowboard is an excellent one-board quiver for a range of skill levels and riders.
