For accomplished skiers, this is a great frontside tool with a sophisticated construction and purpose-built shape. If you are an ex-racer and are looking for a suitable carving ski that can hold up to the demands of powerful skiing, the Flair SC Carbon delivers. Stiff, narrow underfoot and with an angular shape, this ski means business. Even on the firmest conditions, the Flair SC Carbon provides knife-like edge grip and uncompromised stability. The key here is the titanal band underfoot that works alongside the three-dimensional application of fiberglass. The use of this material goes a long way in enhancing the overall stiffness, as well as the level of energy and rebound. We’re not seeing this in many others skis on this list and it truly takes performance to the next level. We also get Volkl’s tailored carbon technology which places carbon stringers extending out towards the end from the central strut, which gives the wider shovel area more precision. The race ski width of 68 mm underfoot combined with the short turn radius and generous amount of camber keeps this ski pretty squarely in the frontside category.
