For the ultimate in light weight all-mountain versatility and performance, look no further than the uber-popular Head Kore 93. Unchanged again for 2021, the Kore 93 is relying on its sublime reputation to carry it forward through another season. We could not be happier with that decision. They've done a fantastic job with these skis, from the shape to the build and the profile-it all lines up for that one-ski quiver type of mentality that a ton of skiers know and love. Built with a Karuba wood core, Head adds all sorts of space-age materials such as graphene, koroyd, and carbon to make the ski stiff and rugged without being too heavy. The end result is a perfect blend and balance of materials. The ski is stiff to the hand flex, but doesn't feel overly demanding on your feet, and that has a lot to do with the shape and the build. While the ski is 93 mm underfoot in the 180, it's narrower in shorter lengths (and wider in the 189). They do this to create a consistent performance regardless of length, and since there's such a wide range of sizes in this ski, we think that's a smart approach. A 93 in a 162 just doesn't quite perform the same as a 93 in a 189, hence the adjustment. We looked back at what our testers have said over the years and were able to compile a nice greatest hit list of skier feedback. Spoiler alert: it's mainly positive.

Steve Sulin calls it "a great ski for anyone," and while that may be a bit of an overstatement/generalization, we certainly understand what he's going for here. On the 180, Steve scored the ski 5's out of 5 for stability, versatility, and overall impression. Normally for an all-mountain ski without metal to get a 5 in stability, the builders have to do something right, and in this case, Head has accomplished just that. "No change, but still a great ski. Does it all and more!" It's interesting to note that Steve's low score of a 3 out of 5 was for forgiveness, showing that he does find the ski to be on the stiff side. Josh Wolfgang agrees, calling it "very stiff for a ski with no metal." Josh was also on the 180 and his highest score was a 4 out of 5 for versatility showing that despite the stiffness, this ski just has an overall composure that makes the versatility really stand out. "Enjoys bumps and trees," Josh notes.

Rick Randall was also on the 180 and scored mostly 4's out of 5, with a couple of 3's for stability and edge hold. Rick calls it a "lively ski with playful energy. It performed better in softer snow versus firmer snow. I liked it much better in slower to medium speeds. Lightweight, so it's easy to move around. Very versatile ski that the light weight could be used in a touring application. Big range of skier ability for this ski." That seems to echo Steve's sentiments that the Kore 93 would really be a good choice for anyone. Noah Labow agrees with Rick in this regard, calling it "a good every day ski! It was comfortable in a variety of turn shapes and very maneuverable. Stiff, but has an even flex." Noah is a bit lighter than our other testers and he found that the Kore felt "stable at speed" and "performed well at high speeds in firm conditions." He was on the 180 as well, and as we've stated in the past, skier weight is something to take into account when shopping the Kore skis-lighter skiers tend to fare better.

We're looking forward to another year of fantastic skiing on the super-versatile Kore 93. Best suited for lighter skiers in the advanced to expert range who are looking for a well-rounded ski with a high-end, the Kore 93 has very few limits and is certainly worth a strong look and a certain demo.
